IT Financial Analyst

Job Description

The IT Financial Analyst provides key centralized financial services to all Information Technology groups requiring financial guidance, reporting, or analyses. As the IT Financial Analyst, you will assist in financial forecasting, pricing and product analyses, profit and loss statement management, corporate budgeting, ad-hoc analyses and reporting, and guidance pertaining to shared expense analyses, expense allocations, and department structuring.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain and report on the business chargeback model, leveraging large datasets from cloud providers and internal systems of record to ensure accurate expense distribution.
Support the tracking and allocation of project costs by mapping financial spend to development efforts (Jira story points), providing visibility into the ROI of Agile delivery teams.
Interface with partner engineering team to monitor data model health, troubleshoot anomalies, and suggest logic enhancements for allocation engines.
Digest complex model outputs to prepare monthly reporting packages, variance analysis, and executive summaries for non-technical business stakeholders.
Perform regular audits of service utilization and financial data to ensure capitalization and expense practices align with corporate accounting standards.
Assist in the development of the IT annual budget, incorporating cloud consumption trends and headcount projections into the corporate forecast.

Ideal candidate would meet one of the following backgrounds:
Finance/Accounting Education with 1-3 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, BI, or Reporting.
Data/Business Intelligence Education with 1-3 years of professional experience in Corporate Finance, Accounting, or FinOps.

Required Skills:
Accounting background or knowledge of general accounting processes, procedures, and financial statements
Moderate skills in ETL tools such as Alteryx or light to moderate skills with Python or SQL
Moderate skill in business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Sigma
Information Technology or Mortgage industry experience a plus
